Telehealth Group Guidelines

Here are some guidelines from us on making our telehealth groups the best they can be! If we all follow these guidelines our new group format can be helpful, safe, and fun for everyone.

Privacy Guidelines

  • NEVER share the Zoom Link that is sent out for the group meeting with anyone who is not a member of the group. The only people who should have that link are group members and/or their parents.

  • Prior to entering the group session, find a private place in your house. It is best to be in an area where nobody can hear you and where you can shut the door. This protects everyone’s privacy! The most ideal place for most people would be in your bedroom or a guest room in your house.

  • The same privacy applies to our online groups as in our live groups. It’s OK to talk with others about your experience in the group, but not about the identities for specific information about others.

Courtesy Guidelines

  • It is harder to hear and keep track of what everyone is saying when there are lots of people in a Zoom Meeting! So, let’s take turns and give everyone a chance to share and be heard.

  • Minimize distractions while we’re in group. Ask that people don’t come into your room or talk to you while we’re meeting.

  • If there is background noise where you are, muting your microphone when you’re not talking can help. The group leaders can help you with this!

Relax & Enjoy the Time!

  • Group is therapy and that’s important. However, one important aspect of therapy is relaxation and enjoying being with others. Just like we do when we’re in the group room together let’s relax and enjoy our time together!

  • What we are all going through right now is very stressful! We need times that we set aside to talk about it and help each other. That’s what group has always been about.
