I am certainly one of the lucky people who found their path early on and remained passionate and committed to it throughout the years. Psychology never ceases to fascinate and ignite me! After 13 years in the mental health field, I remain deeply invested in each of my client’s journeys and dedicated to continued professional growth in order to provide the best care possible.
After completing my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of British Columbia in Canada, I was fortunate to work with a wide range of populations, from youth experiencing homelessness and addictions to victims of violent crimes, to people afflicted with severe psychiatric disorders. My unending enthusiasm for Psychology later led me to complete a master’s degree at the Athabasca University in Canada, which granted me wonderful opportunities to be a part of various group practices as well as maintain my own small private practice. To take my skills even further, I am currently pursuing a PhD degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Louisville.
I have experience in helping individuals, couples, and families address a wide variety of life challenges and improve their mental health and relationships. I welcome clients of all ages, cultural backgrounds, identities, and walks of life to help them move towards meaningful changes in supportive, respectful, empowering, and creative ways. I like to think of the counselling process as a shared journey, and I feel privileged to be invited to join my clients on their unique and adventurous travels towards meaningful change.
Coming from a client-centered, strengths-based, culturally sensitive approach, I envision clients as the captains of these journeys, trusting their wisdom, experience, and intuition. I am not afraid to join them in the darkest hours of the trip, invests fully into helping them navigate the maps, and be there to celebrate the joys along the way.
Outside of work, I love reading science fiction books, watching movies, going on walks and exploring new places, or simply spending time with my family.
