My love for psychology has consistently centered around my amazement at humankind’s ability to adapt to change and overcome great adversities. As an adolescent, before I recognized this passion, it was no accident that memoirs were my favorite type of book, with The Glass Castle remaining my all-time favorite. I pursued my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Michigan State University, where I immersed myself in post-traumatic growth research and volunteered at a nonprofit children’s grief support center. It was an incredible privilege to help provide a space of connection for these children as they developed understanding and meaning after their loss. After these experiences, I was certain the next step was for me to train to become a licensed clinical psychologist. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree at Spalding University here in Louisville, KY. In my clinical training thus far, I have worked in multiple outpatient settings with individuals across the lifespan. My focus remains on developing trauma-informed therapeutic skills within both a humanistic and third-wave cognitive behavioral orientation. Meanwhile, I am incredibly grateful to support the mission of Groupworks as a member of the administrative team.
